The UAEE maintains a private, non-circulating academic research library related to Egyptology. It has been compiled over the past decades in large part through generous donations. If you have duplicate literature, relevant electronic document files, or simply need to deaccession, please consider the UAEE and TMP libraries, detailed below.
Donations may be tax-deductible.
Tucson, Arizona - UAEE Library
The UAEE maintains a private, non-circulating academic research library related to Egyptology. Access is limited to Supporters, Members, and Invited Guests of the UAEE, or at the discretion of the Director. The Library presently holds approximately 3,500 volumes and thousands of electronic documents. Most of our holdings are in the areas of archaeology, art, architecture, chronology, language, maritime studies and religion. We maintain a comprehensive digital catalog that can be searched while visiting the UAEE Library.
Luxor, Egypt - Theban Mapping Project Library
In October 2011, the Theban Mapping Project, directed by Dr. Kent Weeks, opened a "public" library as part of its West Bank office. Free and open to all daily from 3pm to 9pm local time, the library includes books in English and Arabic in the areas of Egyptology, archeological theory, conservation and management. To learn more about the TMP Library, see here: http://www.thebanmappingproject.com/about/TMP-April-2013-Progress-Report... and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-oMBchaoNM
The UAEE supports the TMP Library and encourages others to do so and to use it when in Luxor.
